First Saturday Serve
On the first Saturday of each month, teams meet at various locations to share God's love in practical ways by caring for the felt needs within our community.
The Good Neighbor program exists to empower the church to walk alongside refugees and immigrants with the love of Christ. Good Neighbors befriend refugees and asylum seekers by providing practical support and life skills to those who have been forced to flee their homelands. Our team will walk alongside a family for one year. Some of our responsibilities will be: * Welcome newly-arriving refugee family through Arrive Ministries’ Reception and Placement program. * Be one of the first faces to greet this family upon their arrival at the airport. * In partnership with the family’s case manager wewill have the opportunity to assist with appointments and help the family learn local systems, all while extending friendship to our newest neighbors. *Come alongside a refugee or immigrant family already living in Minnesota. * Provide support to families seeking asylum.
Thursday at 6:30 PM
A group for young adults where we honestly wrestle with questions about the Bible and how to apply this ancient text to our 21st century lives. Bring your Bible, your notebook, your questions, your doubts, your fears, your joy, your curiosity and join this community of folks who want a serious relationship with their Bible…but who aren’t there yet.
Wednesday at 7:00 PM
We live in a world that alone will not produce Godly men. Our children, and more specifically our sons, are culturally acclimatized to "never grow up" and live the life of a boy in a man's body. Living this first hand with my own son, I refuse to let the world dictate his future outcome. The goal of this group is for a small group of men to "intentionally" disciple our sons to become the Godly men the Lord calls them to be. Utilizing Jon Tyson's book "The Intentional Father" as a guide, this is a men's group for fathers of boys between the ages of 12-19 who are interested in helping their boys step into becoming a man of God. A study for men who are looking to make a difference in their workplace and family. We meet Wednesdays from 7-8 am at the Original Pancake House in Eden Prairie. We review the previous week's sermon message, then share testimonies and prayer requests.
This group is for men pursuing God and asking Him to equip them with all they need to walk with Him in truth, passion, purpose, purity and discipleship. The group utilizes the Authentic Manhood curriculum ("33" series -for the 33 years that Jesus walked the earth). The curriculum and group resources offer clear and practical Biblical insights on God’s design for manhood that are both refreshing and inspiring. The group will point men to a gospel-centered vision of life that sets them up to enjoy God’s grace as they pursue the promises of His Word. Group Timeline: Stage 1: 12 weeks - Authentic Manhood for Grown Men (A Man’s Design, His Story, and His Traps) (meets for 12 consecutive weeks). Stage 2: 6 additional weeks: Man and his Work 6 additional weeks: Man and his Marriage, and Fatherhood Men can join at anytime, but in order to earn a camo wristband with “Iron Sharpens Iron” (Free, Pure Disciples on the inside) a man must complete his full commitment to Stages 1 & 2.
Saturday at 7:00 AM
Come join us as we have breakfast and read the word of God together every Saturday morning starting at 7:00am at 125 5th Ave. NE Faribault, MN 55021.
We are starting a men’s only (for now) small group in which we’ll be getting together on Sunday nights at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Lake, for open gym basketball. All skill levels are welcome and the gym will be reserved for this RV group, specifically. Get in the gym and enjoy some fellowship and fun runs up and down the court for a few hours, followed by group prayer. Competition is great, especially in an encouraging environment, surrounded by men who love Jesus. Let’s form some authentic friendships while collectively missing plenty of shots and turning the ball over dozens of times. Please wear outdoor shoes until you enter the gym, in which then you can switch into your gym/basketball shoes. The cost is $5/person (each time) and their staff prefers cash, if possible.

You are welcome here! This is a "join at anytime" men's group. If you are looking for a deeper connection with God, this group is for you. God desires that we overcome being ruled by our thoughts and feelings, which are highly influenced by our circumstances — family, work, health, or temptation. 2 Peter 1:3–4 tells us that we can actually do this! It comes from learning to respond to God's promises in His Word and through prayer. This is the purpose of The Promise Principle Small Groups whether you’re still exploring faith in Christ, or you have been a Christian for many years, you’ll experience what we believe Jesus meant when He called His disciples to change the world by discovering and responding to His promises, truths, and commands. We gather together to work on projects, share a devotional, fellowship, pray and bless our community. You can bring a project of your own or work on one we've already started. Group projects are donated to the community. All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary. Current projects include tie blankets, loom hats, knitted and crocheted scarves, hats and blankets.
Serving opportunities will be shared with this group and participants can participate as it works with their schedule and/or interest. No set meeting times or commitments. Emails will be sent out as opportunities become available. Let's radically serve and love our community so that more people will come to know Jesus.
As a member of this group, you will be part of The Best Christmas Ever, a Christian nonprofit organization that helps families who experience hardships due to no fault of their own. Do you want to make a HUGE impact on your community? God has given us each many gifts and strengths that we can use to make the world such a beautiful place. We can come together and create such an impactful group of giving and generosity! I, personally, see what heaven and God has given to me and I want nothing more than to give it all back to Him. I would love to create a group of individuals within River Valley Church that all have hearts to give back to those who are in need of SO much hope. Join me and let's make a difference!
Friday at 6:00 PM
We partner with ICCM Life Center for a promising evening of God ordained encounters! Teams hit the streets of Minneapolis to love our neighbors, build relationships while connecting with others from your campus that are serving in this capacity. You can serve as often as it works for your schedule. Starting at 6pm we meet at the Life Center for prayer and worship (preparing food is also an option). At 7pm we then load up the Life Center buses and drive to various parts of the city, focusing on encampments, bus stops, high traffic areas and shelters. Throughout the night we will have countless opportunities to pray with, love on, and provide essentials to individuals and families while spreading the JOY OF THE LORD. :) We gather back at the Life Center around 9pm to share our experience, testimonies and encouragement. It’s always powerful to see how the Holy Spirit moves both inside us and through the individuals we meet. Hope to see you there!! Here is a document that has a few details:
In 2022, Habitat for Humanity will be building 5 new homes in Faribault and River Valley Church is partnering with them to make it happen! Both skilled and unskilled laborers are welcome! (Must be 18+) Signing up for this Small Group will enable you to be contacted whenever we are scheduling a "Build Day" and other updates about the projects and opportunities to serve.
This will be a place for Men of crosstown to be connected to events happening specifically for men, whether it is a serving opportunity, sports activities, or simply a chance to get together as men and sharpen each other. The Idea is that we can grow our ministry here at crosstown by being better connected as a whole. If you have an event you would like to add to the calendar, please share and let's fill up our calendar.
Join us for our Winter/Spring semester as we study Hebrews: A Faith That Endures. Hebrews 12:2-3 ...fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer [author] and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
